Earlier this year I worked with digital content agency Rockabox Studios to produce Swoon for Monsoon – a fresh look at the digital magazine format that uses interaction and gifs to reveal more about some of the key clothes of the season.
We used a rich HTML platform called Ceros, which allowed us to start prototyping interactions on day 1 of the project, and allowed a very smooth pipeline from concept and wire framing to build and review.
We were looking to break down the print metaphor for online magazines, and investigate fun interactions that would show the clothes in their best light and feel involving, while also making the magazine directly shoppable.
The results were gratifying – the magazine brought new customers to the Ecommerce site, who were more likely to buy on their first visit, and tended to spend more. They shopped directly within the magazine, but the effect also persisted once they’d looked at it and continued on to the main site.
